KC to offer leadership series for nonprofits

The Continuing Education department at Kishwaukee College is again offering its successful Leadership Development Program, titled "True Leader – Leadership Development." The program is being offered specifically for local nonprofits and consists of three classes this fall.

Participants may register for select classes or for the entire series. The True Leader program is offered at no cost through a grant from the Kishwaukee College Foundation.

The three class modules offered this fall are:

• Emotional Intelligence on Sept. 22 – True leaders recognize that they lead people, not machines. This class covers the importance of learning to understand emotions in employee motivation, satisfaction and productivity.

• Delegation/Employee Growth: Motivation and Coaching on Oct. 20 – True leaders know the importance of the delegation of duties that plays to each employee’s strengths and how that can promote team work for the common good of the team as well as the overall organization.

• Recognizing and Rewarding Employees in Meaningful Ways on Nov. 30 – True leaders are dedicated to creating a positive culture of appreciation to motivate, validate and engage employees.

All classes meet from 8 a.m. to noon and will be held in Room A1222 in the Kishwaukee College Conference Center.
