SANDWICH – The 130th annual Sandwich Fair opened Wednesday, Sept. 6, and ran through Sunday, Sept. 10, at the Sandwich Fairgrounds, 1401 Suydam Road.
Sandwich Fair General Manager Brad Anderson said the fair is one of the oldest continuing county fairs in Illinois and it has the most exhibitors and people in attendance by number.
The fair draws daily crowds of more than 100,000 people, with the top attendance days reaching more than 200,000.
This year’s fair included FFA Farm Zoo, antique farm machinery, arts and crafts demonstrations, exhibits, displays, rides and more than 300 vendors each day.
Events included NTPA-sanctioned truck and tractor pulls, the Sandwich Auto Show and demolition derbies, with musical performances by Woody James, Back Country Roads and Old Dominion.
Next year, the 131st annual Sandwich Fair will be Sept. 5 to 9, the Wednesday through Sunday after Labor Day.
