YMCA names new development director

SYCAMORE - The Kishwaukee Family YMCA has appointed Sheridan Ernst as its new Development Director, as of March 4.

Ernst has a bachelor’s degree in marketing communications with a concentration in public relations from Columbia College. She brings five years professional experience in development and donor relations.

Ernst served as the development director with the Green Hills Family YMCA in Nashville and most recently regional major gift officer at the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago where she managed major gift campaigns and cultivated relationships. She brings a wealth of experience in fundraising, event management, volunteer development and donor relations.

In her new role, Ernst will direct and coordinate the annual Community Awards Dinner, annual campaign and endowment program, along with fundraising special events to help the YMCA provide programs to people in the community, especially families and children, regardless of the ability to pay.

“I am thrilled to join the Kishwaukee Family YMCA team,” Ernst said in a news release. “It’s exciting to be part of an organization delivering programs focused on Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. It is evident our Y is making an impact in our community and in the lives of our members every day. It is a blessing to be here and I look forward to getting to know this community.”
