MALTA – Kishwaukee College is offering the following community education classes in April:

Spring Essential Oils

5:30 to 7 p.m. April 3 at Allergy, Aches & Pains in Sycamore

Join Dr. Teresa Melton, owner of Allergy, Aches & Pains Chiropractic & Acupuncture Center, Ltd. to learn about essential oils to help you through the spring. Cost is $35.

Spring Fling Garden Container

11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 6 in the KC Greenhouse

Choose from a variety of plants to create a unique outdoor display to take home. Cost is $45 and includes cloth container and plants.


11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 7 at Hy-Vee in Sycamore

Join Chef Rudy Galindo to learn how to create egg meals that go beyond breakfast. Cost of $30 includes food and sparkling wine tasting. Must be 21 or older.

Grisaille to Watercolor Workshop

4 to 8 p.m. April 8 in room B1426

Learn to paint in shades of gray to imitate sculpture. Introduction to color theory, value, shading wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, and dry brush techniques will be taught. Cost is $54.

Drones 101, Beginner Class

9 a.m. to noon April 9 in room A1267

If you are thinking about getting a drone or already have one and are not sure what to do with it, this course is for you. Cost is $15.

Drones 102, Advanced Class

9 a.m. to noon April 11 in room A1267

So you bought an expensive drone and you aren’t sure what to do with it. This course will cover weather conditions, the differences between a hobbyist and professional drone pilot, and FAA rules. Cost is $15.

You Can Uku-Ukulele

9 a.m. to noon April 13 in room B1272

Join our hands-on, action-packed class and receive immediate, get-to-know-it, get-to-do-it instruction in ukulele. Cost is $35 or $90 with instrument purchase.

Wilderness Survival, Level 1

8 a.m. to noon April 27 at Afton Forest Preserve

Participants will learn how to start a fire, build survival tarp shelters, pack a survival backpack and purify water. Cost is $59.
