Threshing bee starts Thursday

The 63rd Sycamore Steam Show & Threshing Bee will take place Thursday through Sunday at the Taylor Marshall Farm, 27707 Lukens Road outside Sycamore.

The show will run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, with threshing, wagon rides and barrel train rides running from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to the event website, threshingbee.org. Visitors can see a 1900 Sandwich stationary wire-tie baler bale straw, wheat grinding, and more than 275 sizes and types of gas engines. There will be a parade of steam engines, tractors, cars and other antique machines at 1:30 p.m. daily.

Other activities running daily include rope making for kids, bake sale, farm toy show, petting zoo and flea market.

Admission is $7, children ages 12 and younger get in free. On Thursday, admission for senior citizens is $5.
