SYCAMORE – Interested in spending time this fall researching your family? Have you been researching for a while and hit a dead end? Need some new ideas on where to look?

Julie Dresser will teach her six-week genealogy class starting Tuesday, Sept. 17.

She will start with an overview of genealogy and then get into specific areas to research each week. Topics include: local and national repositories; finding your family in the census; birth, marriage and death records; home sources; military records and much more.

Dresser started as a genealogist at age 11 and has never lost her passion. Now, she is sharing her knowledge with those interested in starting genealogy or those who want to brush up their skills.

Registration is required, and there is limited space available. 

Classes will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 17 through Oct. 29, at the DeKalb County History Center, 1730 N. Main St. in Sycamore. There is a $25 charge.
