DeKALB – The DeKalb County Democratic Party will present three awards and have a keynote address at the annual Paul Simon Awards Dinner on Thursday, Oct. 17, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the Hopkins Park Terrace room, 1403 Sycamore Road, DeKalb.
Blogger, advocate and national writer Melissa Blake will serve as the keynote speaker at the event and present “Speaking up in the Age of Trump.”
The party will also recognize Joe Mitchell with a service to the community award, Vern Deljohnson with the Dubin Award for distinguished service to the Democratc Party, and Bob Brown with the Jordan Gallagher Award for service as an elected official.
Democrats in DeKalb County are encouraged to attend the event and donate to local party efforts. Individual tickets to the dinner event cost $60 for adults and $20 for students. Those who would like to sponsor a table of eight can do so for $500.
